To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) is a much-loved, critically-acclaimed, classic trial film. It exhibits a dramatic tour-de-force of acting, a portrayal of childhood innocence (told from a matured adult understanding), and a progressive, enlightened 60s message about racial prejudice, violence, moral tolerance and dignified courage.
Haven't read it , and to be honest , the write up isn't that promising . I take it the book is better than the film

Just watching Failure to Launch, in which they kill a Mockingbird, which brought it to mind
The description you posted is of the film, which isn't great, the book is a classic and Pulizter prize winner

Have you noticed how many good books are ruined by making a film of it , JR Tolkiens lord of the rings was an excellent read , now , a film that takes away the opportunity to use your own imagination to conjure up a picture , Gandalf now has a face , and Gollum , that got them ,they had to cheat
