Speaking to Steve the Locky from Cleeve the other day and he said it is indeed the surface of the path as it’s slippery ,some of the timbers being replaced as well
He heard a month longer than the lock works for the path
That will cause problems mooring wise
I live 10 minutes away from Child Beale and some of the problem last year was a few day boats turning up lighting fires and being abusive when the park manager spoke to them ,the fishing club had an axe to grind as some boats had been overstaying by weeks rather than days

A boat off our island mooring was the one that sank recently in Fobney lock a short way up the Kennet outside Reading ,the poor owner had to call the police 4 times due to the scroats from Tescos having come up river with a couple of crabby old cruisers who were trying to raise it for salvage...
Being in a lock heading upstream in a small outboard boat or Kayak is no fun if someone's engine is running ,in fact stay in there to long and it's dangerous
Yes there are a few wrong uns who have a Narrowboat no doubt and they do try it on ,why not name and shame so everyone is aware which are the wrong uns

true but some of them are at a age/price where they have bottomed out anyway and will always be worth that as long as everything still works and is serviceable
Not a bayliner but we started with a rinker 270 which sits between the 2655 and 2855 bayliners size wise but basically the same thing ,maybe wrong but thought all of the cheaper brands were built under the Brunswick banner ? ours was a petrol injection never failed to start but yes a pain...
