Hi just to let you all know that in the early hours of Monday morning 29 August 4men were seen thieving off some boats opposite Richmond Rowing Club when spotted they started throwing some of there loot (inc outboard motors etc) in to the river. The police managed to 2 of the thieves but 2 more escaped and are still on the run the 2 guys that the Police did catch in the act abandoned their cruiser ( with motor still running and literally spinning out of control further upstream in total 2 boats were found. So it's time to be ever more diligent especially in the Richmond area.

A boat off our island mooring was the one that sank recently in Fobney lock a short way up the Kennet outside Reading ,the poor owner had to call the police 4 times due to the scroats from Tescos having come up river with a couple of crabby old cruisers who were trying to raise it for salvage using chains and ratchet straps
The old bill only stopped them as they were causing damage to the lock ladders that they had attached the chains to ,a day later some were inside the sunk boat using a hose pipe to breath presumably looking for Martins wallet as the boat went down very quick
Shame they never drowned in the attempt ,the shitty old cruisers were left moored up a half mile below the lock last weekend not sure if they are back out on the Thames yet
