I had something similar on 550 Detroit Diesels years ago...as I recall there is an override switch/button/something on the engine to shut it off in there is no other way. The reason they wouldn't shut off normally was a solenoid which needed replacing...sorry, that's probably not a huge amount...

I'm spending the summer at anchor in Ibiza...46' Sunseeker. The best place I've found is just inside the breakwater in Ibiza town, by the entrance to Botafoch. Strictly not allowed by there's alway 20+ boats in there and not had a problem...I'm there now!

Thanks, that's all great stuff...situation is that the (supposed!) DD specialist in my part of Spain is doing the work not me, but he seems confused too and not sure how good he is. Engines have been serviced and all filters replaced etc and the problem happens in neutral so can't be props etc...
