    Fuel supply to Airtronic D5

My D5 has a fuel regulator that is leaking, looks like it's coming from the adjustment dial, do I actually need a regulator like this (see pic)? Also, and for my own clarification and understanding, is the item in the other pic a fuel shut off solenoid, this is located in the fuel line before...

    Anyone know this boat.

I will also add that the ferry / seal watching is a commercial activity whereby the vessels can carry more than 12 passengers, and therefore subject to annual MCA inspections which are both out of water surveys and in water running trials. I have been in attendance on several of these...

    Anyone know this boat.

Just to be clear, the ferry / seal boat operator is hands on when it comes to maintenance, and is very proactive in preventative maintenance. It was 2/3 years ago that the ferry sustained damage whilst alongside Ha'penny Pier during very strong winds, this was not a lack of maintenance issue...

    Anyone know this boat.

I know the owner of the 'Haven Cruiser' the seal watching boat, it's the same person that runs the Harbour ferry from Harwich to Shotley/Felixstowe which I skipper on. He is aware that Haven Cruiser is leaky, but I'll mention it to him that the bilge pump is going off that frequently. Also...

    Navionics CF Card

Morning I'm still using an old E120 with the CF card, all working normally until I done a system reset on the plotter. Now the plotter will not show the charts, and even when the CF card is inserted into my laptop it won't even recognise CF card at all (card is inserted into the Navionics USB...

    Planus / Tecma

Thanks vas / jfm I've seen the various schematics of the two brands, it's just a bit tricky to see how much room there is below the discharge outlet to get the elbow in, good point on the swept elbow jfm. Might see whether a normal height would work, but the existing base is already raised...

    Planus / Tecma

Looking to fit one of the 'compact' Planus or Tecma toilets to replace my old manual Jabsco. Does anyone know if there is enough room within the toilet body to fit a 1 1/2'' 90 degree outlet bend without having to go through base that the toilet sits on? The installation would be a whole lot...

Pull dipstick out, wipe clean, replace and remove again, then place on some blue paper tissue, you can then see how far up the oil is on the dipstick.

    Shotley Marina - good service

I know the marine industry sometimes gets a bad name for shoddy service levels, but I would just like to give Shotley Marina a thumbs up for the excellent service that I recently received. Phoned them on Monday28/6 with a repair request that could only be done whilst the boat was out of the...

Leaking rudder stock - change lip seal whilst boat in the water?

Thanks for all your input. Bit more info about the boat, 41' single screw motor boat, rudder sits into a good sized skeg, so won't go anywhere once everything has been removed from the top. Whilst there will obviously be water ingress once the old seal is removed, but at what flow is unknown...

Leaking rudder stock - change lip seal whilst boat in the water?

The rudder stock on my boat is leaking enough to set the bilge pump off every so often, it's Tides Marine setup with a lip seal as per photo's. Once everything is removed from the stock it should be reasonably straight forward job to prise the old seal out, cut if off and insert the new seal...
