    padstow - a warning

Coming back from Ireland a couple of weeks ago and halfway across in 80 metres of water there was one pot buoy all on it's lonesome. Was weighted down and not moving so we think there was something on the end of it. We did wonder about having a look but there were a few bigger vessels around so...

    Cardiff Harbour Festival.

Allan, We thought Lily was a star, what a great dog. She looked to be really enjoying her trip out. Didn't really see much of the festival as we didn't get in to the bay until after 6pm and the following day had to get back to Bristol as one of the crew needed to get home.

    Cardiff Harbour Festival.

As the weather looks ok (amazing for an August bank holiday weekend) we are going to come over from Brizzle on Saturday with some friends to have a look at the festival goings on. Unfortunately have to go back on Sunday but if you are around come and have a beer on Flying Legend. Will most...

    Lydney YC Rally

Sorry on reflection that was a 'gruff' reply, but I realised you were probably not going to see any reply before you left and not knowing what you were going in made a reply difficult. Glad you had a good time. Don't think many people get to Lydney so it is interesting to hear your comments.

    Sharpness

Boat is but I'm not at the moment. I'll PM you when I'm around and hopefully meet for a beer or something similar?

    Sharpness

Not got any information on any of that but to get the short term licence you also need to make a 'boat condition declaration'. Just say yes to everything probably gives the right answers. I thought I might get away with that for Bristol Harbour but no I have to have the safety survey.

Plymouth to Bristol - Done it!

We were only there for one night but we will be back. Good beer has that effect.

Plymouth to Bristol - Done it!

I know 7 knots we were impressed too. Mind you locking in at the barrage was easy there was only us and we were only held for a couple of minutes before we came in. A short dash to the visitors pontoon and we were there, two of our number went ashore with the lines and then straight to the bar...

Do you have internet access onboard? What boat do you have?

Plymouth to Bristol - Done it!

No we came past on Wednesday afternoon. Even if you'd been looking I doubt you would have seen us as it was very murky on the Welsh side, could not see the power station most of the time.

Plymouth to Bristol - Done it!

Looking forward to giving you the tour. I rang you to say we were going in to CBYC but got no reply, assume you were working as Banjo was on her mooring. Very friendly and helpful and the beer was good.

    Stranger in the harbour

Passed her in the BC on Thursday morning, think she was heading for Penarth.

Plymouth to Bristol - Done it!

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice in my previous post on planning this passage. Flying Legend is now safely on her new berth in Bristol. We left Plymouth just after 1100 on Tuesday morning and made it to the bar at CBYC at 7pm on Wednesday evening. We had a completely mixed bag of weather...

    Extra Green to Plymouth

Slippped Extra Green out in Bristol this evening. Taking her down to Plymouth which I am really looking forward to. I have to say I think she and I will be a lot happier there. The single handed sailing options are really good and I am really looking forward to exploring the south Devon/Cornwall...

Well done Bristol Forum, you just passed 1000 posts!

Do you know who posted this all important post? Your right about one thing, regional forums are much calmer places to be. Lived in Suffolk for a year and enjoyed the forum but never did get to sail with Bernie. Sorry Bernie, would have loved to sail your neck of the woods.
