    +1 Trojans are the best IMHO, the extra outlay for a pair giving you some 250ampH and 12v are designed to take a lot of abuse, (used in golf carts can take rapid discharging and recharging) and come back smiling, also some reports from liveaboards lasting 8 or more years.

    I recently replaced similar hatch, was acrylic, scratched and glazed, with a polycarbonate one 10mm Was lucky as the supplier had some off-cuts from doing a security job (its pretty much bullet proof) which he cut to size for me, 10 pound cash.

    Well its an opinion is suppose, but my teak deck still looks great after 20 years of carefull maintenance, and gets quite a few appreciative remarks from others. Its not an overlay of course, built with it.
