    Volvo Penta d4 /Joystick

Sounds like either broken cable or that it some how got disconnected at the drive end. Either way the boat needs go out of the water to find out.

    Volvo Penta d4 /Joystick

Sounds like stuck actuator or broken shift cable on port side. Take a look at the actuators in your engine bay while have someone at the helm moving the levers between neutral, forward and reverse and see what happen/ not happens at the actuators. Also you can disconnect the shift cable from...

    Targa 40 fuel capacity

1,5 nm/g or 3,02 l/nm sounds a bit optimistic for planing speeds on a heavily loaded T40 with KAD´s. Recon with around 3,5 l/nm so u have a bit of extra margin. Given you have 197 UKG = 900 liter total and want a 20% reserve = 750 liters to play with: 200 nm x 3,5 l/nm = 700 liters used and you...

    New build Sanlorenzo SL96A 2024

Thanks for take the time to poste so detailed about your build @jfm :) One Q. That metal strip along the centre half of the prop tunnels, are those fixed interceptors to prevent high nose-up running angle? I know fixed interceptors have been fitted with great success to some older boats with...

    Mark Proudfoot aka Magnum RIP

Having followed this forum for 20 years or so, Magnum and other contributors on here did make an impression that's stuck in the memory even you never met them personally. A few weeks ago on a delivery trip I stopped by the Idyllic island of Læsø near the NE tip of Denmark. Walking along the...

Volvo Penta D4 (& D6) Fresh water flushing

Flush bags big enough for a DPH drive does exist if you google a bit. Other option is to trim the drive up, disconnect the S-tube that brings the sea water from the drive to transom plate and stick a garden hose in it and start engine. Also you can use a 30mm plastic drain pipe, stick it into...

VP122D constantly in fwd gear no matter what the sticks do

First. Do you have mechanical or electronic controls? Boat from that era (early 90´s) suggest mechanical with cables (that might have snapped), but some are retrofitted with electronic controls.

    New build Sanlorenzo SL96A 2024

Finally :) Thank you for making the time to post details of your build in progress. Having followed the build of Match I and II on this forum, I have really been looking forward to this one. I suspect the attention to details and level of customisations will reach another level with SL then what...

    Princess 330 muffler/silencer

Congrats with the new boat :) I think we talked on phone regarding delivery to Bergen before you decided to do it yourself. Having spent many years on a P35, it had retrofitted tube mufflers. It helped quite a bit on the noise at cruising speed and at idle. They were fitted in the lazarette...

Best anodes for sea water: zinc or aluminum

I find these charts from boatzincs.com very informative. https://www.boatzincs.com/pdfs/Chart_A-Which_Anodes_Should_I_Use.pdf

    Princess 42 on shafts

Exactly. Even I as non-Brit have noticed some odd Princess builds over the years that was never even on any spec sheet or princess "heritage page", like the single engine "river P35´s". As an example: A friend of mine owned the (probably) only V39 MK1 with KAD43 engines fitted as new. Short...

    Princess 42 on shafts

The HIN number for once... . Longer saloon, cockpit (and aft cabin) second. Plus some smaller details like fabrics and colours that was new on the V42. Like i said, i have been on board the boat pictured above years ago with intention to buy. Did they? I have never seen or heard that...

    Princess 42 on shafts

Nope. Genuine V42. I have viewed it several years back when it was for sale and also a V40i with 63Ps on shafts. Layout of the engine room put me off. Mufflers and big exhaust hoses "everywhere". Top and sides of engines very hard to get to and some jobs looked almost impossible.

    Princess 42 on shafts

Then what’s this? A very few v42s was made with shafts before they were discontinued. I have heared only 3 or 4 boats or so. One of them are here in Norway. Early V42 with TAMD 73 on V-drives and shafts.
