Good day to you all.
So off we went for our planned 3 week cruise around our home area of Guadeloupe and beyond. First day went to our favourite day/weekend stop in Petit Anse . To our dismay lots of yachts there so had to moor at the entrance to the bay. Very rolly in strong north easterly...
Thanks, makes sense and that was the advice from the guy helping me with the rewiring. Good to hear a second opinion supporting the guy who's charging me for the supply of equipment.
PS The supply can do Simrad, Garmin or Raymarine so no axe to grind, unless of course he's on a sales drive...
So, I'm renovating this old Ron Holland prototype, simple beautiful lines, but I digress. I'm replacing all the systems on board and I'm undecided on my choice of electronics. I sort of decided on Simrad as they have a terrific AIS VHF and a tiller pilot, but I like Garmis as I am used to it...
New boat, new engine and went to Speed Seal to buy their impeller, kit to find a banner saying they were out of business.
Anyone know if the product was taken up by anyone else?
Bananas. As someone who suffers from seasickness quite badly even after several days at sea, i can confirm that bananas really do taste the same on the way back.
Oh and plain couscous. That last eventually stays down by the way. Corned beef definitely doesn't
Reply to Concerto .
Thank you for the copy of your presentation. I'm using it to demonstrate to my wife that I'm not alone in my stupidity.
Thanks again
Thanks for this. Found a Yanmar the right size, just waiting for the shipping cost, then have to add "octroi des mer" (Guadeloupe tax) Hire a crane and a mate and shoo it in .
Hmm said my wife I can see that'll work ;)
You could always consider an external bow thruster:
E-Thrust Overview | Yacht Thruster - Bow Thrusters & Stern Thrusters
I agree with those members who say ignore the nay sayers, if you want one and it helps take away the stress of sailing, especially parking, then buy a bow thruster
Didn't...
Reply to Concerto. Been searching for a second hand engine but no luck in Guadeloupe or Martinique. I have a frien who is a yacht insurance assesor here in Guadeloupe and he can't find one either except for a couple of sail drive units that are way too big.
Reply to Kurrawong_Kid. Thanks for...
