My experience - I bought a WHaward marine regulator from a supplier and it apparently failed after a few months, replaced initially with the original regulator that came with the boat and it worked fine. Spoke to WHayward Marine who said return it and we'll check. Came back to me and said there...
Fitted a Trudesign heads outlet with valve etc. Asked the boatyard when launched to check there were no leaks. Was told they have problems with 'frost' - is there any truth to this? They had not heard of Trudesign.
I used some plywood which had a rubber coat which seems fine after about 15 yrs - used on factory built trailers I notice. More expensive but seems okay - had to seal the edges. I have fitted a pvc cover to the trailer which helps.
Beta have a good aftersales service. I chose a Beta for a few good reasons, using a Kubota base engine which is a well known commercial engine, seawater pump at the front of the engine so easy to service, will make engine feet to suit the engine bearers, hand pump for oil changes, etc. Service...
I've checked all my life lifejackets and they all tested ok. But I did inflate the only manual one - inflated ok and ordered new bits for the auto lifejackets - all turned up by next day delivery either Halkey Roberts or UML bits but when I checked the manual one I had tested it was marked...
I always use E5 premium petrol with Honda fuel additive for all my small engines, lawnmower, strimmer, small generator and small Honda outboard. All now start easily even after a years non use.
I have 5 currently + a ball fender - used to be 6 but one got a leak so make do with 5. I do have a couple more at home but I've found 5 ok for me. 33' boat.
I also use a loop of bungee corn to hold the cringle onto the hook. Double sided so can do reef 1 & 2, for reef 3 use bungee from reef 1. The KISS principle...
I used to store my small 2.3 transom dinghy in its bag in a cockpit locker but it was a b***** to get it in(and out). Now I have a 2.8 transom dinghy which I store in a bag I made, lashed to the deck, just forward of the mast.
Reminded me to check all my lifejackets - says 2025 on the capsule so OK. But how important is the date on the cylinder? If has not been pierced, is corrosion free, weighs correctly, is it okay to use for another year? - it's dated 02/2021.
The Amber colour of the water is almost certainly water that has got into any wood/plywood that has had screws, bolts or other fasteners through it/fastened to it and has bled downwards to the bilge. I have this problem at the moment, I've resealed all deck fittings, winch base resealed...
I also used a hot air gun to fit new 38mm hose for my toilet outlet to get it over the seacock hose tail. Also made the holes larger when going through bulkheads.
I've used Atenlighting.co.uk for LED lighting for our boat, motorhome and cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Good quality and price and they will customise items for your application.
I also had a Sailspar furler on my previous Jaguar 27. I also fitted a Rutgerson clutch so you just hauled in - much easier than trying to get the rope round a cleat. Rutgerson because you could dismantle it to insert the endless reefing line.(other brands are now available). Worked for me.
