Makes sense-am guessing you also need to swap out the taps and shower (for hot and cold feeds, and not just cold) as well as adding the hot water pipes. Are Ideal Boats doing all this for you?
We use Sky Mobile. You pay a fee of £2 per day when roaming (due to Brexshit) however you can use your UK data allowance ‘unrestricted’. We have monthly sim only, 3 sim cards (boat, wife, daughter). Any unused data gets put into your piggybank and will be there for up to 3 years…..anytime you...
Hi everyone,
I’ve just returned from a great trip to Formentera (what a place!!). However, I experienced a low oil pressure alarm on one engine at the end of a 3 hour 3000rpm cruise back to the mainland…..it happened as I knocked the throttles back and on investigation I found no issues with...
Fully agree-just spend a few quid and have your own network……small change in the grand scheme of boating costs!!! Our boat is down in Denia (not MDL owned) and the marina wifi is shite. We invested in a 4G unit (Teltonika RUT950) several years ago and got good results with an antenna on the...
I had a Suzuki 250 on my last rib…..despite careful use and annual servicing I had 2 major issues/failures (warranty) and would never go with Suzuki again. Particularly as, with the second v expensive failure requiring a new engine block and 2 cylinder heads, Suzuki GB did not fully reimburse...
Thanks for this guidance…..maybe the Williams dealer is doing it ‘by the book’ and only following the ‘replace everything’ philosophy that often goes with an OEM approved repair. I will be back in Spain in 3 weeks and assuming no change in the mean time on parts then I’ll investigate your...
I guess I need to ask some more questions of the dealer. But my understanding was the turbo was OK and perhaps the issue (leak) was discovered just in time to avoid damaging it….but the catalyser etc was all so badly corroded it cannot be reused/reinstalled. See pics.
A year…..crikey that fills me with dread…..
Apparently the turbo was OK. I really need to ask the dealer where the seawater has come from…. we always freshwater flushed before putting away…..yes there were times when we were on anchor for 2-3 days and left the Williams afloat but still we...
Get it checked out by a Williams dealer asap. We had a similar issue last summer (flashing lamp but absolutely no other signs of a problem) and so given it was mid season and we were cruising in the Med we continued after speaking with the local dealer to use the boat. 6 months later it goes...
Hi everyone, for info we are having major issues with the availability of engine parts for our 2014 Williams 285s…..our local (excellent) dealer in Spain has had the boat since late Feb and they are still waiting for engine parts required for the repair (catalyser, housing and exhaust...
