When I had my trimaran shipped from South Africa back to the UK I used a SA company called pronto for everything down their and for the booking of the container slot. I then used Peters and May to handle all the import and logistics at this end. Peters and May will do the whole thing if required
I respectfully suggest you and the wife join an established race boat/crew. People are always looking for crew when racing. Check at your local clubs for notices. This way you'll get a sense of what it is all about and what you might need to change on your own boat to ensure happy safe racing.
I swim there a lot and have found the fishermen to be friendly and engaging, especially when clambering out of the water after a long swim. Could it be you ?
As requested: Moored at the top of the Deben. Floats in 50cm of water. Dries out without falling over. Multihulls make great east coast boats. Oh, and then there’s the speed.
I do not know much about the capabilities of the Seamaster 30 but the easiest route is only 73nm ish long. At 5.5 knots your total trip time is a smidge over 13 hours. If your worried about crab pots and mermaids steer clear of them and go straight to where you’ve got to be.
