ordered most of them new now...
We will just see what strikes our fancy when we are over there. And what the weather is doing of course! I have been Amsterdam(ish, I forget the exact spot)-Hoorn-Edam-Einkhuizen-Den Helder-Lowestoft before, back in 2005.
I have (perhaps foolishly) gone ahead...
Sound advice!
Unfortunately Molly draws 5ft - bit much for inside the islands, so outside it will need to be. I will make sure to get the Dutch tidal flow atlas - sounds mighty handy.
Just in case...
Heading for the Baltic this year - Does anybody have a set of recent (last coupla years) Baltic/Frisian/Netherlands/German Bight charts ?
Have found the NV. and Delius Klasing packs-but 70-80 Euros a pack is slightly eye-watering. Don't get me wrong, they seem good value, but...
ooh, we are thinking of Baltic-ing this summer too. Not staying overwinter though, so I am afraid I am no help there. Promise to give you a wave if we spot you! Kirsty
We have our boat there and Scott is certianly getting much use out of it. I find it dead cute when it's beeping away underwater with it's 'snorkel' just poking out.
It is adjustable for width and height and enables lift/launch to be a one man operation (instead of 2 men, a tractor and a bit of...
lol! Well, got to live up to the Scottish reputation after all ;-). I could go through that £55 in a weekend too if I let myself - I am a big eater (but yes, skinny).
I like cooking and don't eat anything ready-made (that I can think of). Having a fondness for porridge helps, dirt cheap...
As an information point, I feed 2 of us (very well!) in the UK for about or less than that £55 mark. I don't drink at all and he hardly, so I suppose that helps. Free mooring and sunshine though - Greece would have to win there. Only ever been on hols, but maybe someday in the next few years...
I liked Ramsgate!!! Though the berths are a bit of a tight fit - we couldn't get a fender in between us and the next boat. Can't recall what we did. let it down till it was flat, maybe.
I've always called the zigzagging downwind on alternate gybes it 'going gybe and gybe'. Dunno who I picked this up from... My main problem has been convincing some cruisy types to actually DO it.....
I had a look last year for a similar situation (though 8m boat). The few marinas were small and very full - all moorings take plus substantial number of boats on the hard. We went as far as Paphos harbour (which was lovely, mainly a small fishing harbour and no room) Conversations with staff...
Now that is true. And appreciated
Pretty much what I did when we took the mast out - except that lacking the blanking plates (which have either gone AWOL at some point over the past 20 years or are hiding somewhere) I used plasticene....
My only stuff-up when replacing one of the cables was...
