Thank you for replys , it turns out i used to large stuffing and compacted to tight ,the shaft wont move freely at all ,now ordering 5 mm packing and replacing next week

Hi Yes it could be when the drip on the old packing was a lot i found to tighten the brass knob slowed the flow of water , i did refill the grease quite a few times . The water is still dripping thou ? How do i go about fixing it ?

Hi Graham Just wondering about Nash passage at LW , we have to leave Porthcawl 3 hours after HW so could arrive at Nash point at LW ,on a tide heading towards neaps ? It would save going right out round Nash and surely Nash sand would provide some protection from the SW rollers ? Not done...

Hi James I noticed yesterday when running engine if we turned the tank on its side the stuttering seemed to stop , then we turned it the right way up there was a hiss of air from the tank , also when starting the engine the primer on fuel lead wouldnt go hard is the tank the problem ?
