Also connect Garmin White/orange to gps thin black -ve.
If it doesn't work disconnect gps blue from white and connect gps yellow to white.
Some manufacturers of gps label the data cables to where they are to be connected!!
Theres no voltage on data cables so you will not do any damage.
I can see that a syphon break valve would work anywhere after the pump but I can't see how a waterlock and loop makes any difference. The waterlock stops the exhaust gasses escaping without the water but why does the loop affect anything except a following sea entering the system. Once the...
Thanks for your replies.
Of course , if the water injection point is below the water line sea water will just flow into the exhaust pipe. The anti syphon valve is crucial in this case. I'm pretty sure I have the 150mm height above the waterline but I am going to check.
The forum is great.
Do I need an anti syphon valve?
Engine is Yanmar 3GMF with exhaust outlet 6" above the water 12" off centreline. Its never had one and never had a problem but most systems seem to have one.
Are they needed?
Only seem to cause a problem if they jamb open and let sea water into boat.
Can't see how...
I use superglue.
Put on a few drops on the rope then twist the rope. When it hardens cut through the glued are with a Stanley knife. Add a few drops to the end if the superglue hasent soaked into the end.
It makes an end rather like a shoe lace.
The rope has to be dry but can be done when...
What about doing away with the splitter and the 1,2 both switch and just have an isolator switch on the feed to the control panel. Install the B2B charger between the engine and the house batteries and a VSR between the house and the thruster battery.
This gives you 14.4 v at the engine battery...
I replaced the thermocouple on mine and it made no difference. The fault was the spindle wasnt being deprest sufficently for the valve to latch. Added a spacer to the spindle as suggested and now perfect.
Worth a try!
I have a single drogue and it works really well. Its a bulders bag from a builders merchants. You could use 2 or 3 in series or parallel if needed. They are rated at 2.5 tons each plus safety factor.
I keep loosing the signal from the masthead sensor. It's a Navman 3100s.
The mounting block at the top of the mast has a 5 pin din socket and the sensor plugs into this and then has cover that screws the sensor to the block.
I've been up the mast three times now. Once to spray with WD40 and...
