I suspected the different is the location of the sensors. Gauge temp at the thermostats and ECU temp at the back of the engine, towards the end of the coolent circuit before HE
So I guess it’s reasonable to assume it’s 3-4 degrees more then…..though at 94 it’s probably a couple of degrees more...
Two engines, but they have both been all over the place in the last 12-18 months.
Port side sits at 92
SB now sits at 94 - it had a stat change over winter as the old one was stuck open
Hi,
My gauge temp sensors are disconnected, instead I have an engine gateway that’s reads the temperate from the ECU.
I’ve been chasing overheats for a year, but it occurred to me that maybe the ECU temp does read higher than what the gauge should. Does anyone have experience in what the...
Thanks for the reply - reason i mention the idle temp is that they’ve always held at 40/45 in the marina, even with some revs on. So me it was telling me something had changed with freshwater circuit since the pump failure
Which part of the system would you clean ? Fresh / Salt or both ...
Hi All,
Still trying to sort an overheat on my KAD44….
Question, At idle in the marina what is considered normal ?
(I’ve had different opinions from two engineers, one says 40C is normal and one says 87C is normal)
1) heating up to around 40/45 C and staying there until she’s out and opened...
Thanks VP, my engineer has fitted the rebuild kit and used all the new parts, Not on boat yet. Should I expect a problem ? - think the pulley won’t press onto the new shaft ?
Hi,
We are rebuilding the circulation pump for my KAD 44 as the shaft had snapped. The rebuild kit, part number 876794 has arrived but the impeller looks different.
I've done some searching online, and from what I can see the one that has arrived matches all the pictures I see. We are a bit...

Nipped them up, they weren’t tight and now the legs go up and down with no leak and also full range of motion. The controls being the wrong way seems to be be the connector blocks to the relays having been swapped in the past when the leg only moved one way.
Just need to work out where the...
Hi All,
Thanks for all your patience and replies while i try to get my boat running following a load of work (New Transom Shield, Refurbished Drives and Engine)
Todays problem - My Power Trim.
Current Status: After replacing the helm switch, i can now get the legs to move and they are down, i...
Engine now starting OK, bumped into Mr Googler earlier. Not 100% What solved it, either pulling the ECU fuse cleared the error and allowed it to start, the battery wasn’t strong enough and leaving it some time improved it or we disconnected the kill switch under the fuse box……
Either way, it...
