    Fridge problems

I have replaced my controller on similar fridge. I bought it from Ali Express as these fridges are crazy money new and a replacement controller is criminallly expensive in UK. For £22 I fiitted this myself which is not difficult and it works perfectly. I guess it is the same controller just...

Bottom fouling in Mussel farming area

Dunno I just keep having them replaced! I will be monitoring in future as the engine seems to be working now and we should get some cruising done.

Bottom fouling in Mussel farming area

I had the boat lifted and washed yesterday. She has been sitting in West Cork marina for exactly one year since last clean and antifoul with new anodes. Not moved due my back damage. We took her 15 miles to a marina with facilities. From the top I could see the fringe of seaweed. Underneath was...

    MF805 wiring question

Thanks Jamie - I did have a good look at the pillar thinking it must be possible to get down there but decided against it. I was hoping to move the radio and speakers stuck up on the roof but the cables go same route down the rear structure and then forward. A horn is not essential but I could...

    MF805 wiring question

Can't run new cables as they go all the way along the roof to the rear and then down and all the way forward to the helm. No direct route and no way to get new cables run without tearing the boat apart.

    MF805 wiring question

I have a Horn (10 amp) to install in my MF805 which goes on the front of the roof above windscreen. It is an option so wiring is in place already at this point in the saloon behind the clock/barometer hatch. In the conduit there are cables red/blue and another grey/orange. I cannot see these...

TAMD41P - steam or smoke? Video quiz...

OK noted. At least I know it will come off now without snapping bolts. When I have more tools I can have a go at getting the pipe off and replace the whole thing.

TAMD41P - steam or smoke? Video quiz...

I just had a very nice guy offer to replace my elbow. We could not release the exhaust pipe without possible damage but got a good look at the inside and it was in good condition so was refitted. I have a new spare in stock. This is a factory fitted elbow and has done about 950 hours of mainly...

TAMD41P - steam or smoke? Video quiz...

I have a new elbow waiting to be fitted. I cured the lack of speed and revs by getting the barnacles off the prop and keel. Although I have the Nanni engine the principles are the same I guess. Maybe the new elbow will give me speed boat performance - although I doubt it. I am terrified of not...

Cheap Chinese Diesel Heaters the Return !

I just bought my third one for £65 and installed in the garden cabin but now the prices have gone much higher. Shipping from CN was more than the heater cost!

Do I have electrolysis going on??

The system has only been tested as it is brand new. So running the engine up to temperature would pressurise the system and force water out of the cylinder if there was a small leak. This would sit in the well around the immersion and not overflow as the pressure would no longer be there.?? I...

Do I have electrolysis going on??

I am in touch with calorifier supplier as this is brand new but not used since installation 12 months ago except for testing. It was pointed out that I may have electrolysis due to the staining/corrosion on the brass inlet / outlet fittings and the peeling support bands? The only seawater is the...

Do I have electrolysis going on??

Cable disconnected. Only installed and tested. Worked fine. Then took boat out to check the indirect system heated the tank too. All OK. I suspect the pressure when it was hot caused the leak as it is dry now. No chance off water leaking onto it as it's under saloon floor.

Do I have electrolysis going on??

Could anyone advise if they think I have an electrolysis problem looking at the corrosion around my immersion boss and the slight staining of the brass fittings? The calorifier is in the air flow between air intakes so salty cold air flowing through. The boss was full of water and rusted the...

Merryfisher 805 heating and hot showers

Go for the vertical version as better access and needs less energy to heat what you need. I also got larger diameter outlet fittings for decent size pipe. 22 litre fits nicely. Trick for me was to get the left foot in behind the alternator and the right foot near the air vent inlet. You can...
