I'm reading all of this with interest since I'm going to need to refuel soon, and my sailing boat hasn't been out in a while.
Thanks to Refueler's advice (gratefully received) I'm planning on using an enzyme-based additive.
Quick question though - what's a 'Pela'?
Thanks again

Hi There - if you're on the Trent have you thought about looking at somewhere around or downstream of Gainsborough (assuming that's still the first/last bridge over the Trent)? I don't think there's any sailing clubs on the tidal Trent per se, but you may be able to find something at West...
Maybe try using Starbrite MSR Black Stain remover? (MSR stands for mould stain remover I believe). After lockdown I had this problem on our upholstery, tried lots of things, and then the local chandler recommended this. I was dubious at first, tried it, never looked back.
Apologies, haven’t read the whole of the thread! My wife and I learned to sail on the broads having never been on a yacht in our lives! Really enjoyed it… we used Anne Whelpton’s boat yard in Upton who also provided an instructor (we took levels 1 and 2 keelboat syllabus). I remember ghosting...
Have you tried turning it off and on again? Updating the firmware? I seem to recall there was an issue where some chartplotters may have reverted to an older date.
You could try Starbrite MSR Black Stain Remover on the black stains... which could actually be mould. Worked a treat for me after years of trying to find something!
MSR Black Stain Remover
Hey All
Old thread alert!
I had the same problem… took the top gasket off… bl**dy fish about 3 inches long! I think it may have even survived when returned to the sea…
Glad I didn’t leave it till our next visit!
