"The gas detector on boats is always under the stove"
Lawks, another rule I'm not familiar with. Seen quite a few gas detectors on a quite few boats in my time, too. Usually placed in low points under the sole where gas might collect - not where crumbs collect under the cooker.
Are you making...
"I would hope not - whether you like smoking or not - smoking down below on a boat with gas onboard is plain dangerous."
Is that what Nanny said? Then you'd better not light the gas stove, either...

Am I the only person who has a problem with fumes when I fire up the Origo? Seriously, it's bad enough to make my eyes stream and more susceptible crew members rush to the rail.
Is there a 'clean' fuel that avoids this problem?
(Otherwise it's great!)

Does anyone know the rules for anchoring in Poole Harbour. Specifically, what bye-laws or regulations limit the time boats are allowed to swing to their own ground tackle?
Any info/personal experiences gratefully received.

If I realised I could write a book on how I've lived on $10 a day for the last 3 years cruising in the Indian Ocean - maybe I could afford more!!!! sorry, but until you've cruised on a budget for a prolonged period how can anyone comment? It's only because you base your expenses on what it...
