Thanks very much indeed, I shall play with these tomorrow and see how I get along. I shall also get the up to date version in place of the free version, I couldn't download via Open CPN website, perhaps it was just me but unless you have either Windows or Mac it doesn't seem to work. I will...
I downloaded a free OpenCPN app via Amazon, would it be wise to go for a paid version from Google Play as I notice advice from O-charts that you need an up to date version of the app.
Going to run it on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Tablet. I have downloaded the free app via Amazon, I think the paid version on Google Play is £7.50 or am I delusional? If I pay for charts is this a subscription type payment which needs yearly renewal. I sail mainly Northern waters, Faroe, Norway and...
Good evening, at the risk of being tedious could anyone tell me if I can use OpenCPN around the U.K. I ask this because I don't seem to be able to find free charts for our waters, it must be noted that I am not good with technology so it is possible I am simply an idiot. I do have paper charts...
Can anyone confirm our understanding of the following hull identification number from a Moody 40
OA5/PJY/79
We are assuming the 79 at the end refers to the year the hull was completed, thus it is a 1979 boat, are we correct in this assumption?
Thanks.
Seriously, can anyone with an old Moody 40, i.e. Primrose version, tell me the dimensions of the saloon area please? I know if someone asked me this about my Westerly 33 I wouldn't be able to say with accuracy but perhaps someone out there with a 40 actually knows?
I apologise, I didn't know which forum/thread to chose and felt maybe different folks would monitor different ones. My inexperience with 'forum decorum'.
It's a good point to bring up. The 40 compromises the saloon area to create the sleeping accommodation. Our feeling is that this is the reason for the offset in the saloon, six cab sit and allows free movement forward and aft and around the galley area, but if everyone were deciding to 'mill'...
Looked at the Sealord, I do love Westerly yachts, but the same issue as with the Oceanlord, it's the privacy/convenience/comfort issue of the layout. On the Westerly you have two cabins not including the saloon, then you have a berth, but only a berth on the port side as you head to the aft...
Yep, re-engine with Yanmar 54hp and only 200 hrs on it, I would likely re-rig as I think, whilst relatively new, it's not heavy duty enough for me and I can do myself, I'm reasonably 'handy'. We're not looking towards the Med but West and then the Pacific. Much work done on the one we're looking...
Posted the same question on another part of the forum but then thought you folks may also have some thoughts or stories? I am looking to buy a Mood 40, early 80's Primrose version. I sail a Westerly 33 ketch currently but my wife and I are planning to live aboard and travel for a few years...
O.K. folks let the fun begin. I have a Westerly 33 and am looking at buying an early 80's Moody 40 with the plan to sail off for a while with my wife. So, I quite like the Moody 40, not entirely sure if its as robust as an Oceanlord but it does have a better layout, we will have grown up kids...
Does anyone have the old Raytheon R10X tucked away somewhere. My screen no longer lights up, everything else works but I will buy a complete unit if there's a working one out there. Please? I will pay all and any costs for postage or couriers. Raytheon have no parts, and can't repair because of...
Was your boat the rather beautiful varnished folkboat? Really very lovely, I stood admiring her for quite a while. I am interested to hear any comments from the visiting yachts regarding the approach and entrance to Lybster, perhaps it is a matter of familiarity but we do consider it to be a...
