Can anyone give me any advice on towing a 2000kg bilge keeler on a trailer?
I'm not thinking so much about the legal weight limits, towcar requirements etc. as I can look those up. More about positioning the boat fore and aft on the trailer - should it be balanced or have a loading on the tow...
Anywhere 'quieter' on the South Coast than Studland would probably also be as popular a place to anchor. The eelgrass and seahorses enjoy the same sheltered conditions as anchored boat owners.
Its is not clear from the OP what exactly the anode is supposed to be protecting. It may be (or once have been intended to be) an anode to protect the inboard engine though without any connection to the engine its hard to see how it would now do that either. It wouldn't be the first anode...
Depends how heavy an outboard you envisage. If its heavy enough to alter the trim it might affect performance/balance under sail. On the other hand if you plan to use a lifting bracket it might improve performance over the ob well version as the drag of the ob leg and prop and the turbulence...
If its like the caravan type, when running on 12volt the performance is very poor - designed I think mostly to keep the contents cool with the door shut while under tow with the car alternator provising the juice. Not up to maintaining things frozen for long for instance. I think on 12volts...
