I am considering a boat with Italian VM engines 320hp. Not sure of model number but about 15 years old. Does anyone have experience of this make of marine engine which I have not come across before?
Yes , keep lookingI am considering a boat with Italian VM engines 320hp. Not sure of model number but about 15 years old. Does anyone have experience of this make of marine engine which I have not come across before?
I think my Vetus 250hp may be VM Based. Not certain though.
This was the approach in the 4 and 6 cycling EGR versions used in automotive. I’m sure there were other derivatives too.Every VM i have had dealings with has had the separate cylinder heads for each cylinder. Don't know if that is unique to VM, or indeed if every VM was like it, but may help to narrow it down.
Ah, perhaps not then. I wonder who else does five cylinder base engines?Every VM i have had dealings with has had the separate cylinder heads for each cylinder. Don't know if that is unique to VM, or indeed if every VM was like it, but may help to narrow it down.
The Volvo D3 is a 5 cylinder, based on the Volvo car engine. There are other 5 cylinders. Both Mercedes and VW have made 5 cyl diesels. There are also 5 cyl light truck engines.Ah, perhaps not then. I wonder who else does five cylinder base engines?
Land Rover Td5 also. The Volvo D3 is a 5 cylinder, based on the Volvo car engine. There are other 5 cylinders. Both Mercedes and VW have made 5 cyl diesels. There are also 5 cyl light truck engines.
I agree it doesn't matter which boat is purchased from a depreciation point of view ...........................and in the longer term it doesn't matter proving the £15k isn't needed for engine repairs .He bought the Mercruiser boat .£15K buys a lot of fuel and repairs.
Yes, dreadful engine and fortunately never marinated to my knowledge. I was at LR when this engine was put into production. I much preferred the Gemini 200 and 300 engines.Land Rover Td5 also.
P, you'll forgive me for not missing the opportunity to correct a native EN speaker, but I believe engines can be marinized, not marinated...Yes, dreadful engine and fortunately never marinated to my knowledge.
