Alls well in the end. Went up to the marina in Arecife yesterday. Did loadsa manouvering this morning and back to Rubicon. Mr . Vom managed perfectly well in fairly flat seas and I reckon he was brave to give it a go. Gonna try a run over to Puerto Mogan on Gran Canaria next week if weather permits so a bit more testing.
With the gear cable wire disconnected, you really have to shove the lever to engage gear. Much more difficult than on shaft gearboxes I've had to use manually before. Every day is a school day......?
