York Ouse Newbie

Hi and welcome:cheerful:
Depends how big your boat is to be honest. You can go up to Ripon but there's a few low bridges or if you want to go south, then try Viking marine at Goole. A good place to stop over night then you can go up or down the coast if you're feeling adventurous or bimble down the Trent or Selby canal.
Just keep an eye on the tide times if you're going through naburn Lock.
What berth are you on In York??

The new cafe at Naburn does good sandwiches!

There are visitors moorings at The Ship at Acaster (give the landlord a bell first to confirm) which is doing great pub food now and at the moment whilst its still a bit fresh has log fires burning which is very welcome. In York there are visitors moorings on the left bank (right as you head upstream) at Dame Judy Dench Walk, just beyond Lendal Bridge, that gives you easy access to The Star Inn The City within the museum gardens.

Keep an eye out for us on York Rescue Boat and give us a wave.

If you cannot get up to Ripon you should be able to get to Boroughbridge vistors moorings, then a short walk into town.
For a meal we opt for the Black Bull in the market square excellent Food and beer.
For somewhere quiet to spend a sunny afternoon Nunmunkton Pool (where you take the right hand branch for Linton) just push your bow onto he sandy bank.
