or are the col regs questions totally ambiguous?

in last month's quiz, given the pattern of lights displayed there are at least two totally different possibilities calling for different actions. depending on whether you see them from ahead, astern or abeam the actions to be taken are totally different.

perhaps i'll stick to lotto!

I agree, but then I feel the same about the light combinations I see in real life. I often have trouble working out which way the ferries are heading. I have a few suggestions for them to try:
Nav lights are totally obscured by deck lights (fishing vessel under way in random direction with nobody on the bridge).
Tricolour over Anchor light (Yacht returning to the Hamble with skipper p****d)
Intermittent blue flashing (Mobile phone on deck, crew not under command)
Dull red glow (Old Gaffer with smokey parrafin lights or a pipe out of control)
Flashing blue and red fruit in a row of three (leading lights to Weymouth)...

Any more?
