Going well though and we are both over hauling those around us. 50 places made today so far in just a few hours

Yep, I think that is a danger.

They have the wind, but I couldnt get over there due to the 'beach' incident so I had to go east.

Still 5,000 miles to go though so it may come back to us

yeah, are you following me or am I just anticipating your moves?

Maybe we are gaining becase we are playing the wind shifts more than others - or maybe the guys out west have temporarily lost some VMG to the waypoint (like WayneS says, they may gain some ground back).

For us, looks like another interesting time approaches where the winds go light, highly variable and head us at every opportunity.

I don't understand how you posted that at 15:09 and yet my watch still says 14:30.... Am I an hour late?

PS - running aground in Tangiers didn't help me a few days back.. nor did being undecided in the middle.. still got Alistair in the West to catch...
