YBW forum burgee

Thanks for all the kind words and glad the ordering process seems to be working.

We have now sold out of the initial batch of burgees. All orders placed so far should be processed, I don't think we have any over orders.

I'm going to try and get another batch made but in much bigger quantity, once that has been done I will post up again and try to get a sticky across the various forum groups.

Henry :)

Still have my original burgee and it's unused in it's original packaging. Think it's a 2011 model which is the rare one, just a few hundred made I believe.
Got to be a collectors item now...offers on £150.00 greatly received.....
(in fact it's so rare I can't bl..dy find it...may have to try and purchase a 'modern' one

Hi Andy,
You should have jumped in last week. We all have 'Batch One' Burgees. :p

Your old misplaced one was a 'Boat One' model.

I will keep my eye out for the next lot.

I had an original batch model still flying, but a recent trip across lyme bay in a bit of breeze has done for it. It is now consigned to the "memorabilia" locker on board. Its place has been temporarily filled by a club burgee, but it's just not the same. Thanks to Henry for all his efforts.

The post plane dropped the parcel to the closest village, from where I, using a dogsled on the still frozen lakes, collected it yesterday.

Thank you Henry and the team behind the scenes! Great quality item, looking forward to putting it to use once a bit of sunshine finally does it's wonders. :)

Received mine too. Very nice. Great job Henry. Thank you.

I shall be hoisting on the starboard spreader of my saily thingy at Ocean Village on Saturday morning.

Going to bump this ... Any news on the new batch ?
Just in case the new batch aren't in yet, worth asking the makers to put a couple of extra rows of cross stitching where the cord goes into the burgee - mine pulled out and needed restitching - no big deal though - I think Lisa had had the same

I'm chatting with a couple of people at the moment. The original burgees were a bit of a one off so new ones won't be made by the same people.

I'm planning on getting some cheaper printed burgees and then the cotton embroidered burgee, possibly in 2 sizes. I did look into getting some made in Thailand which I thought would be a great idea, sadly when I waslastout there it was a public holiday so commercial producers were closed !

Henry :)

Henry,

sorry for reviving an old thread, but I think it's time for me to get a forum burgee.
I understand the first batch was sold out and you're planning another one. Any news on that?
Any chance of having a slightly smaller version as well as the 40X50cm is a tad on the large side, same size as the greek flag i'm using actually...

cheers

Hi there.

I ended up having problems finding someone to do the burgee to a standard consummate with expectations and to an acceptable price. The first batch were produced by someone else who unfortunately went off grid despite a number of attempts to contact.

I am in Thailand in a few weeks and might see about getting them produced there. When I was last out it was a public holiday so no chance of seeing people.

There are still funds sitting untouched in a PayPal account so if we can find a manufacturer then fully sustainable supply is an option. I found people able to produce screen printed burgees on synthetic fabric but we are looking for embroidered with piping etc.

Henry :)

OK,

since fabrication is the main issue, I may (if you don't mind) ask around here, just in case there's anyone willing to do such a job. Used to have lots of small fabricators, don't know if there's anyone left tbh...

cheers

Absolutely.

My area of expertise was in the sale and distribution which went well and can be reinstated almost immediately.

They don't just do hand embroidery. They have a couple of Wilkom machines which would be able to knock something like this up in a couple of minutes.

As I managed to restore a corrupted database for them yesterday, I am a fairly popular character there at the moment. I will PM you with an email address and mail them to let them know you'll be contacting them.

You could get it with 18 caret gold stitch but it could get a tad on the pricy side and it would take a very long time to produce. The other stuff they do there is called 'cruel work' which is were they add layer after layer so it looks 3d (think Garter Star!).. Their office is amazing because they do a lot of military stuff, so there are rooms and rooms of shoe boxes full of cap badges for people like the Jamaican police force etc etc etc.
