My reconditioned YSE12 ran ok at first, but I don't think it has been used much since installed. After a few hours it started hunting, then would not tick over, and also would not restart when hot.
I've discovered they regulate by a needle valve in the injection pump, instead of the usual method of limiting the plunger.
Holding the govenor arm in the full throttle position it started immediately. These 30 year old engines are very worn. A new needle valve is only £7.50 (+VAT and postage I suppose) so a new one should go some way to address the problem.
Just posted in case anyone else is having this problem. I've read of a few people on the different forums, which led me to investigate mine......especially the non starting. Bit worrying at first.
I now have a left hand prop, and am awaiting a friend with trailer to lift it out....then the fun will start. Don't think mine has been off since it was fitted, 1962??? or earlier.
If this prop is ok, I will have props for sale, and I now have 4 alltogether.
