You could try Antony Kettlety - AK Marine Services - he seems to have a decent reputation, some info here - http://www.akmarineservices.co.uk/
Haven't used him for inboard work (which he does do) but was very reasonable on an outboard.
Based Shotley so pretty close.

Fair point, but I do have an issue with using certain 'engineers' who I might or might not have stitched me up a few years ago (in my opinion). Anyway, its still more fun doing it yourself.

Yup, I use him also for my "big" outboard.

I would certainly NOT recommend Gerald. He installed a shaft gland on my yacht that failed and almost sank her - loose hose clips and wrong size hose. . He has also "serviced" my engine where the fluid levels where well UNDER the minimum recommended level required by the dip stick. Lastly, my gearbox is worse than it ever was after an "alleged" complete bearing change.
