Yes. Also, it helps if the oil is warm. Be aware of the small hole in the dip stick tube as already pointed out in post number 4.So being a novice at engine oil changes, can you pump out the oil by putting the suction pipe over the dip stick tube and the suction removes the oil, as opposed to inserting a tube all the way in? I’m guessing there’s always some old oil left in the sump?
The YM range is designed so that the dipstick tube goes right to the bottom of the sump, which is presumably why Yanmar included the vent hole.No, the thin pipe needs to be placed via the dip stick tube, at the lowest point in the sump to sook the oil out.
This is correct.Iv just done some separate research and it seems a feature on yanmar is being able to use the dip stick tube as a suction pipe by attaching the suction pipe to the top of the dip stick tube. It seems some other answers have backed this up too.
