I have a six year old yanmar 3YM30, 500 hrs, with no service record.
The manual recommends Texaco long-life coolant 7997 or 7998, or Havoline Extended life coolant 7997.
Wise people on here have previously discussed this: (http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthrea...rrect-havoline-XLC-coolant-for-Yanmar-engines). There are warnings about mixing incompatible coolants.
I am finding the the Texaco and Havoline coolants very hard to source. And I gather coolant technology has moved on further.
So my question is, can I use the newer "Prestone" coolant (https://www.holtsauto.com/prestone/products/coolant-antifreeze-ready-use/), which specifically claims to be compatible with all others?
I shall of course drain and flush, including the calorifier.
Many thanks for any advice
