Does anyone have the same experience as me when searching for a boat for sale on this site? I can put in all the criteria I like, for any boat you care to think of ,and it always comes up saying no result found! I have not ever had one positive identification of a boat for sale even though it boasts a database of thousands to search for! Is it just me?

Yes thats the one! Maybe you have to be a broker and there is a secret code that you have to tap in somewhere ..

Are you sure you are selecting the correct length units (feet or metres) and currency? But don't specify too many things, especially I leave manufacturer blank as mis-spelling by either me or the seller will prevent a match happening.
I have found it very useful.

Re: Great site

Of course it's worth checking both since they have largely separate broker and private loyalties.

I think I agree the Boats for Sale site is better to search, in particular I like the "keyword" option which takes you through make and type into the detail. You can enter things like "lifeboat" or "gardner" and get some really interesting lists of boats with features you might not have considered at first.

Yes, it's just you.

Given that in general the Internet at its best is nearly as fast as walking down to the library and looking things up in the paper, I have found Yachtworld to be head and shoulders above most other commercial sites which I have tried.

Have you tried logging on to My telegraph.com? Now that is a site designed by the proverbial coke-crazed spotty techy?

Hi there,

I am from YachtWorld.com and have been watching the thread of people who have been using this web site to search for a boat. If anyone has experienced problems or has any questions about how it works and who can use it, or you have ideas on how to improve it, you are welcome to contact me on 01329 227665 or on alastair@yachtworld.com.

Many thanks

yes its just you again,
the prob I think is that you are putting in too tight a definition, be more general about what you want and then weed them out. i found my boat no prob and found that it is one of the best designed and user friendly sites out there.
if it brings up no results it really means it and you are looking for too tight a spec that doesnt exist on the site.

Re: Great site

I agree that it is good for finding local brokers anywhere in the world etc,but I still cant get the search to come up with any specific boats, I tried typing in Contessa, for instance, a popular boat you would imagine ,with some for sale somewhere, as they built them in canada as well as here, but no results...
