yacht insurance for singlehanders

I'm planning a solo transpacific and finding it difficult to get any insurance cover. Even Pantaneius are stipulating a minimum crew of 4. Anbody got any ideas? I haven't yet tried the American market but would prefer to stay in UK if possible.

It is unlikely that you will get comprehensive insurance for a single handed ocean crossing. Pantaneius are more likely to look at 3rd party insurance for you than any other Europe based insurer, but it won't be cheap. Insurer's get worried about the damage you may do to a supertanker in the middle of the night if you should run it down while asleep. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

At least you're in good company; even the likes of Alex Thompson and Mike Golding sail can't get solo insurance!
