It wasn’t for e in the end?
Me neither
The smell of fibreglass in the morning is imho overrated -and all those stressed production managers . “You too could become a Captain of this industry”.

Massive respect to those with the character and stamina and wish to thrive at it though.

And the industry has sadly been contracting steadily….

I hit London Town with a bag full of tools a motorbike and some learning and did, well, I did ok..( phew)

And you married a beautiful Spaniard who wants you to buy another boat . Result eh ??

I did YBM from 1986-89. Jim Hazell, Mr Childs on bending moments, Mr King on woodwork. Was still in East Park Terrace then.

Lived in Southampton for 1st year then lived near the Hamble for following two years and spent all my spare time racing yachts. My industry training was driving power boats in Marbella the 1st summer and Deacons Boatyard the 2nd summer.

Keep in contact with most of our year. Only 2 still work in the industry - one has a maintenance business in Dartmouth and one is a Skipper in the Med.

I got out of the industry in 1996 having worked for Ancasta and Northshore for almost 6 years.

A few have boats and just spent 4 days with one pal sailing his Griffon from Thornham to Hamble and back.
