I was supposed to make my first X channel trip to Cherbourg on the 6/7th of July but the boat went wrong bla, bla, bla.

Intercooler seals arrive tomorrow and should be running again tomorrow night although will almost certainly still have coolant overflow problem. Because the cause has not been obvious I have decided that it is reasonable to risk crossing the channel and work on the basis that at least I am aware of the problem and can keep an eye on it.

What would be great is going across with some other boats for company. Anyone up for crossing to Cherbourg with me on Saturday morning from the Solent.

I cant help - but at least the weather looks like it will be on your side .. maybe a risk of fog, but no wind to speak of, and clear skies after any mist/fog has burned away. Wind increasing late Sunday/Monday (SW 4/5).

OK! OK! I will buy it. What is the other Forum? Confess as to your other interests. Trainspotting? Leek Growing? Titty Squeezing? C'mon tell us.

MadDoggies - (Mad Dogs and Englishmen) - it's an old CompuServe thing. Was the 'lounge' in the UKForum. Such prolific posters that the powers that be gave us our own forum, with many different 'rooms'

that folded when everyone slowly left CompuServe over a period of years. Everyone still met socially and emailed so I started a new forum outside Compuserve.

Blimey! I used to go in that old Compuserve Forum too way back maybe 10 years ago. Is PooPoo Peggie still around?

No, only the hardcore doggies stayed in contact. What's amazing is that we stil have a 'transatlantic' branch, members of which quite frequently come over to visit in the UK. What bonding an internet forum can create over many years!
