Please post your worst piece of sailing advice here.
We'll show Domanic "Frightening Ignorance".

I quite like "Seacocks? I just switch em on and leave em mate". "Best made out of aluminium with stainless screws".

"No, your not meant to take the lid off that Bentos tinned pie before you put it in the oven." 20 minutes later "What's that pinging/ticking noise ?" 5 minutes later "KERBOOM"

I thought the worst was also the funniest, after all it was certainly a troll....
(posted here, sometime last year)...

Q: "Just how important or effective are gas alarms". (something like that)

A: "You don't really need them - just open all the doors and windows and strike a match, it is really quite safe!!"

Don't forget to take an umbrella - put it in the wheelbarrow and ask that nice Naval Officer to bring it along

Don\'t know about sailing advice

but in one of his stories Lord Dunsany refers to the, "..unhappy shade of a prep-school master who went searching for a gas-leak with a lighted candle.."

That has remained with me for the best part of 55 years.

feed the cute swans while on your moorings, they never come back each morning clacking the hull for breakfast.

"No need to follow the buoyed channel all the way out at this state of tide."From aged local yachtsman who I foolishly decided to trust.
