Just a few cables from Boulters Lock
www.tmba.org.uk
......he's posting (mildly) humourous messages here about all sorts of minor non boaty rubbish, but over on the PBO forum he's asking deep meaningful questions about 8 litre petrol engines and going LPG ..........
Has he finally flipped.? Answers on a postcard to: Raggy,Sticky,Pongy or Puky
aka The BoatyTubbies c/o MoboChat etc etc

I just dont think he likes our answers, so he's looking around any where to find more agreable ones. Whilst at the same time trying to keep us sweet with rubishy jokes.

Fear Not <G>

Probably a RAM chip short of a mother board or something like that, or more realisticly has all the beer cans in a four pack but lacks the plastic thingy to hold them together <G>.

'Fraid that for me (like so many others here) spending upward of £80k is a major event so I'm trying to gather data from PBO as well as here. Appreciate that a lot of cross-posting goes on but in terms of purely technical issues as opposed to thoughts/feelings I find that more people respond on PBO - before Fred Drift appears.

It might make sense to keep MVII for some or all of the season but I (and SWMBO) don't want to, so thats that. Will cease (or at least slow down) posting jokes here if that helps <G>.

IMHO, FWIW and NWGOI

Re: Fear Not <G>

Yes, B1, most concerned. I have had numerous conversations bout his worrying boat-hopping tendencies and thought that praps I was an impulse buyer till I met Barry who keeps cars for as long as it takes to sellem, cept that some of them take a long time to sell.

Cept wil take quite while to get rid of an LPG boat imho. The flybridge sounds quite good, gludy got that princess 33/35 ish for less than £80k didn't he?

I am kicking myself that I didn't bounce in for a tenner. I just know that Barry wd've gone to fifty quid with DaveS if I'd goaded them. But I went all wobbly and ooer betting for money how very non-u etc etc.

Rinker 310

Craig current favourite is a Rinker 310, 2001 ex demonstrator good spec with twin 5.0l Mercruisers. If the "book" can be believed then it's pretty nippy but drinks fuel at or around 9Gph (yer right) on cruise - which is a bit "ouchy". Comparative sized new diesels are a further £20 to £30k more. Way to rich for me - the R310 is going to make the bank manager tighten her girdle or order more red ink...

9 gph on cruise? with twin 5.0 l?

that'll be cruising very slowly then: I s'pose there is an 8 knot harbour spee limit, so that makes sense.

Double it!!

That fuel consumption must be per engine, no way is it only 9 - 10 gals per hour at cruising speeds!

Even more red ink!!!!

Wow....

Lets see sell the house, and the rest of the toys and I can afford this? Is it practical? Is it sensible? Do I care? Seems to have limited sleeping arrangements and SWMBO is not sure where she'd sun bathe - so I guess I might stick with the Rinker for the moment.

Good spot though JFM. Thanks.

Re: Rinker 310

Hell of a boat Barry... running costs a bit steep though i expect! 9gph... ever thought of opening your own filling station... might be the best way to guarantee supply for the 3 x V8's you will own :)
