Hi All,

Ive posted this on the classic boat forum too but thought id ask you guys too as its become a bit of an issue..

Havent posted on here for a while and was wondering if i could ask a bit of info.
I've an Aft Cockpit Freeman 30 with Wooden Deck and superstructure..

Well before Christmas my Chippie mate found a bit of dry rot on an upright in the wheelshelter
Well it touched on a few pieces of wood around where the wheelshelter starts..

Anyway, my Chippie mate is now the bussiest man alive so looks unable to do the task for me so im looking for a decent chippie which is recommended and not too expensive around the Essex area..

She is moored around Maylandsea.(well on dry dock at the moment), so any info would be greatly appreciated so i dont miss valuable cruising time this season..

Not much help on specifics 'fraid.
Visited a number of places in this area and certainly there is a yard at Woodbridge that specialises in timber boats.
PinMill used to be pretty active with Thames barges so ought to be able to produce a chippie.

I used to own a Freeman 30, and none had fixed wheel shelters as standard as far as I know. Would it be worth removing completely and returning to original. Andrew Corless at Sheridan Marine at Moulsford, Oxon may well be able to supply original chrome screen (at a price!). Excellent source for all things Freeman.
