Winterising advice needed

i guess you learnt a bit about your boat today including how close to losing your engine you were...nice to meet you buddy

with regard the manifolds, does it depend on hours? I've only been putting about 50 hours a year on my VP 431A for the last three seasons. (combination of bad weather and bad luck )

Hammyloz, top man !! Great to meet you last weekend and your help was greatly appreciated . . . turns out that while showing me round the engine, i'd mentioned a squeaking noise that had just started. It was a broken harmonic balancer and upon further investigation this week there were a couple of things wrong around it, had i taken the boat out i'd have knackered the engine !! So I owe you a few beers mate ;)

So despite it going to cost me around £800 to fix all thats wrong, it could have been a new engine.

I always wondered why everyone was saying boats are a place where endless amounts of money are poured away, I am getting the picture now, having spent £4500 since i bought her in July, admittedly most of it on things i wanted like a new full canopy, shorepower and powerboat level 2 training for me and my gf.

However, still loving the boat and can't wait to get out on her again :D
