I have a single D4-260 with duo prop stern drive, G4 props. My props are getting worn out and I want to replace with either the current type (G4, Nibral) or stainless (H4).

I heard that stainless will corrode more easily in salt water than Nibral. Is this still true for the Volvo H series props?

Volvo seems to be recommending the upgrade to H series (they no longer sell the G series as a set).

Other people are also recommending stainless as the nibral ones have a higher tendency for hub slipping.

FYI:
My boat is in salt water all year. Water temperature is about 13-17 celsius year around. I change my anodes every 3 to 4 months.
I don't plug the boat it. All charging is done using solar panels.

Looks like cavitation corrosion. Steel is stronger and perhaps more durable, but it's a problem for the gearbox if something hard hits the propeller, as there's nothing to soften the impact.

On my first boat - it had Stainless duo props from new and no signs of corrosion in 14 years in salt water.
