Being new to sailing, I am looking to build up some experience. I live in Plymouth and have a small yacht in the QAB marina. I sail it single handed in the Sound and up the Tamar and Lynher when I can, but at my skill level, it's a bit of a handful. The family isn't really interested so I'm thinking of joining a local club and crewing on other peoples yachts in order to spend more time on the water.

Can anyone point me at a club that is active in winter or alternatively, do you sail out of Plymouth in winter and do you want crew?

how small is the yacht?

D

Mine is a 23 footer. Cockpit seats two comfortably and six uncomfortably. There's a cabin below with cold water galley and 4 berths.

She's fast though. Surprisingly so. My brother in law has a modern (2009), open 30, racer which to my reckoning, would lose in a race against my graceful 1966 Magnifik Midget. :)
