Fixed seating area, not sure whether or not to rip out the grp couch bases and reconfigure?

015.jpg

Interesting to find the moulded grp strengthening ribs running full length of hull sides....,vee berth to bows of course.

Galley ish area which is due to be torn out....Heads to stern behind.

Heads...hmm what a waste of valuable cabin space?....very tempted to do a boxed in sort of affair here, but then maybe not!

regarding the heads.
i'd make it a walk through......put a second door going out onto the cocpit.
Enter the loo, Do your business, then exit to rear deck!!!

Won't give me any more space though RB!

My train of thought is along the lines of some of the smaller vessel's i've seen which have a chemical loo under a bunk sort of thing! Now if I do away with the Heads bulkheads (walls) turn the pan round 90deg I could then run a continuous work surface straight through to cabin bulkhead from galley, ok a hinged section allowing access to the pan with some sort of cupboard door to match the galley unit doors to enclose it....
There is also a seperate sink unit in the heads which is a tad over the top in such a small cabin (cave)...hygeine ok I get that but I'm still formulating a plan here.....Rob.

Productive weekend!

Cabin strip out is now complete! hard to believe all of this came out!

013-1.jpg

Heads cubicle has now gone, final heads design cupboard still being worked on/mulled over! kitchen /galley unit origanal frame is good and strong so this will be the basis to build the new unit upon.

014-1.jpg

Headlings etc all gone!

016-1.jpg

View from the stern, 4 x hatches in gunnels were rotten together with cabin access doors, I'm chatting with my friendly GRP unit neighbours regarding designs for replacements!

021.jpg

Gaping ugly gash where the Maxwell windlass once lived (that unit rotten beyond economical repair) and what a poor poor job of sealing when it had been fitted! I would have bedded the whole lot on a nice thick layer of sikaflex....as the new unit will be once sourced! no wonder there was lots of excess water getting into the anchor box.....

019.jpg

Next weekend will find me removing the drive, and readying the engine for removal, so all in all progress is good and very enjoyable.... :)
Will update progress next week.
Rob.

Very nice boat!
just an idea: put a big sliding window beside the wheelhouse door, and put your galley inside it; the work surface at the same level as the bottom of the window, that way on a nice day you can use the galley from outside with the window open, or use it from the inside when it's not so nice.

Having had boats with heads in compartments and those just in the cuddy, there is no way I'd convert a compartment arrangement to a noncompartment one...............so you are cooking breakfast and yer mate wants to take a.....no I dont think so.....and if you are trying to tempt ladies aboard...it can be the separate head that clinches the deal!!!!!
