Took the boat out today for the first time in a couple of months. Decided not to winterise again this year while she is on the drystack and glad I made that decision while there are days like today to be had. So flat and calm out there, beautiful blue sky, and hardly anybody else about. We headed over to Cowes from the Itchen for lunch at the LIfeboat then headed over to Osborne Bay for an hour or so, did cloud over towards the end of the day but it was just good to get out for a sneaky midweek winter blast.

The pictures are from my iphone which seems to have added some sort of filter automatically, perhaps due to the sun so they are not the best quality. I have lots of video on the GoPro so will upload that when I get the time...

Well done and good for you. Certainly better than my day - two hours sat on M27 & M3 trying to get to Reading and 1 1/2 back to Hamble, and once in the office didn't notice the day outside !

Know where I would rather have been.

Yes, a good decision. I was thinking how nice it would be this morning, but incoveniences like business and customers meant driving the PC. I know that the sun being so low can be a pain, but boy does it throw up some fabulous light conditions for photographs. Very very nice.

I spent the day driving the rib down to Dartmouth for retubing by Ribeye. Not a bad trip down in bright sun, but would have rather been on the water!

Just as well you were not going west on M27 tonight. There was an accident appearing to involve a motor bike and a horse plus other vehicles. It was stacked back to junction 2 and they closed the motorway. I fortunately was heading n the opposite direction on my way back from Dartmouth.

A very pleasant day, I think I saw you going into Osborne bay, having spent some time fishing around Gillkicker I decided to go for a blast to Cowes and then to south sea, around the time that they did a controlled explosion, didn't see it though

Looks like it was a lovely day. I was out from the dry stack place sea trialling a cabin RIB for work on Tuesday....thick fog when we slipped the moorings but it did improve a bit during the morning.
