Windy Ghibli

I wont be there, which is a pain. Unfortunately it's all happened so fast that I couldnt cancel work commitments at such short notice. More news later....

How did the survey go? We had the chance to trade our Tornado 31 in for a 37 Targa this year, couldn't do it! Love her to bits! Will cost us a bit this year on engine and leg service, but she has done 1100 hours and needs a little tlc in her twilight years. She's a bit of a pin up girl, was the actual boat used for the Tornado review, when tested new to the market!
Hoping that all went well, these boats are pretty indiscructible if you look after them.
Let us know how you go? So exciting!!!

Windy Tornado

Thanks for your comments. I'm awaiting the surveyor's formal report....
I downloaded the boat tests on the Tornado from 1997 which were glowing to say the least! I can't believe how sparkly the boat looked in the pictures. No-one seems to have a bad word to say about the Tornado which was clearly a significant boat for Windy. I will keep you posted.

I had a Ghibli 28. It was a 2002 or 2003 hull. It was a lovely boat. I sold it and bought a Grand Mistral 37 hardtop, which is lovely also, perfect for our English summers!

Did you purchase a Windy?

Thanks for your comment. I am still looking....
The Tornado that I had surveyed needed work on it which would have blown my budget. There are another 2 in Lymington which I have looked at, but not gone any further as yet. The Aquador hard tops look interesting - reasonably sporty yet some protection from the elements and enough berths to allow us to spend the occasional weekend away. MoBo ownership seems to be a pretty scary prospect at the moment, what with the huge fuel costs and berthing fees on the South Coast, but I have the itch that cannot be scratched until I get one! SWMBO stillwants a new kitchen though.

I guess the Ghibli you looked at is the" D6 "on brokerage at Berthon.

I was recently told that it was sold ( subject to the usual stuff ) at the asking price of £89,950 . Apparently the seller bought it in April 2011 but does not have time to use it - something to do with renovating an old house.

Fancy a Bavaria 29 instead ?

I heard that too from the 'horse's mouth' the other day when I went to remind myself why I want a boat! Bavaria 29 - not something that I have considered so far, but will do some homework...
