Yup - Britain is almost entirely cut off from the Isle of Wight today
The Fishbourne car ferry, poor old St Cecilia, was rolling like a sow yesterday, enough to cause a tech failure.. SW 27kts

The Isle of Wight finds Hampshire foreign enough so it would be very distressing to find out that there might be land on the other side of the sea (and thanks for getting the reference)

Looking rather windy for the weekend as well .. We're supposed to be off to St Malo... Premier Marinas Christmas jolly..!.

Looking at the Chichester Harbour Cambermet sea and weather station tonight it looks like the HW today was 0.6m higher than predicted. Also looking on the same weather station at the tidal ht graph for the day there was a strange sudden sharp increase in water ht about an hour after the 47kt southerly gusts passed through off the entrance. It must have been wild on the bar today.
