So, I cleaned my windows with bleach last week as i had run out of window cleaner and though that anything was better than not cleaning them (not that they were very dirty in the first place)

But since i did that, the windows dont steam up anymore when i'm cooking and i havent had any condesation on them in the mornings like i used to get

Its very handy!, but does anyone know why it stops the condensation ?

I expect the condensation is still there and you have left a residue on the surface which is stopping the water forming droplets. Without this surface tension the condensate runs away down the window, ending up where it would have gone anyway, just sooner.

On the other hand if you really have found a way of preventing water laden air condensing on a colder surface, can I be your new best freind and help you with the money?

I think your right, if i touch the window, it is actually wet with a very thin flat film of water, but it hasent formed any droplets like you normally get and you cant actually see the dampness on the window unless you are very close to it

the MOD do little tins of waxy stuff to rub on your gas mask eyepieces, that works really well on scuba masks etc, have to try it on windows.

By the way, why have not boats not caught up with caravans, they all have double glazing now?

if there is residual bleach on the glass, will it not gravitate to the bottom of the pane and then on to the curatins or woodwork ?

Actually, now you mention that, i have some bob heath visor treatment that works particularly well on my crash helmet when i ride in the winter, i'll have to give that a try once i've got the bleach off
