Start again. I have a windex in my shed. When I climb the mast what is the procedure for fitting. Will I need to drill a hole, in what, rivet or bolt etc.

You dont say which version of the windex you have . Several sizes as you will see from sailormans link.

I suggest you identify the model and Google for fitting instructions if you have mislaid the originals.

You may have to fabricate a bracket so take some bits of aluminium , a bench with a good vice, a drill press and a good selections of hand tools up there with you.

My "windex" is in fact a Hawk http://www.hawkmarineproducts.com/wind.htm

I made a bracket from a piece of aluminium angle

When I first fitted it it was mounted to one side of the mast.........I found that difficult to get along with so altered the bracket so that it is now central

Central mount. Hmmm good. I have a bracket in S/S . I'm hoping I can find a hole or drill one in the mast top plate if there is one. Well see. Thanks for the responses
