Take note of this in the Gazette if you boat is a planing boat and you hand sometimes "slips" on the throttle lever.

Unless it's one of these approve devices.They can appeal on the grounds that the equipment was not calibrated to UKAS/NAMAS standards traceable back to NPL and as such cannot be enforceable in any British Court.
Ask any police officer about speed measuring devices.

I was up in Windermere on Tuesday and found it hard to understand why there are so many planing boats when thre is a well known speed limit.

There are some displacement cruisers now and some mobo pilots changed to sail. But there are still plenty of twin engined planing boats getting launched.

That looks a bit quick to me, nearly planing.
