As an indication I answered some questions like this
Q13: The Warden Service's role, whilst useful,is self-fulfilling in that it's main purpose is to apply the plethora of regulations which the Authority have created. The other lakes Coniston, Ullswater and Derwent Water seem to operate very well with a much lower level of Warden acivity. Perhaps Windermere is over-policed.
Q17: I see no reason why lake users should fund the over-regulation of the lake. For instance, it's the only lake with the shallows bouyage system which is so prevelant. Part of the reason must be that the Authority feels the need to limit it's liability with regard to ever-deeper keeled boats. Witness the moving of buoys and closing of some channels after "Jack" was launched.
Q34: This suggestion is a way of introducing further regulations to lakes which have no registration requirements at the moment. The purpose is to provide the LDNPA with a revenue stream because the Authority chose to regulate their main revenue stream out of existence. If the argument is that it was a by-product of a needed law-change, why did this not receive the consideration that it should have and why should those other users left be responsible for filling the monetary void?"
I would imagine that if you are too overt in your answers they will either dump them or put them in a sin-bin and point out how many people have been abusive to their poor little feeble staff.

Ah well, I haven't been abusive, just honest /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
They do seem to be taking the p1ss rather, not only do they set up multiple authorities with multiple charging streams, but then, as you say, conspire to efectively regulate a lot of potential users off the lake. Maybe the new boss will help, although given how much is being spent on the recruitment campaign I expect they'll have to raise charges just to cover that /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I feel for you guys having to put up with so much bullshit. Examples like this are why I firmly oppose the insidious creep of regulation and bureaucracy on seagoing yachts.
