Can any one clear this up for me?
I understand a "North" wind to be one blowing from the North and so on
But is a "Northerly" wind the same? Seems to me it's one blowing TO the North..
Or am I talking B..-- ks?
Blow the wind "southerly" sounds like the song writer wanted to go to warmer climes...Maybe he was an Atipodian?
Can't find a definition anywhere so far so I'm coming to the font of all knowledge.
Cheers Bob E..
Damn KIWIs beat us again.. Should have had the full team out...Dunedin is a real stinker..

a north wind blows from due north. a northerly wind blows from approximately north, e.g. NW-NE. it is a less precise term than 'north' but more precise than 'variable'.
